Unit Mission

I. Mục Tiêu: Hướng dẫn cho các em Thiếu sinh:

  1. Hiểu và thực hành ba lời hứa và mười điều luật Hướng Đạo
  2. Biết ý thức tổ chức, kỷ luật và tinh thần tự lập
  3. Dạn dĩ, nhanh nhẹn, và hòa đồng
  4. Hiểu phong tục, truyền thống của người Việt

II. Tổ chức:

  1. Ngành Thiếu dành cho các em từ 11 đến 12 tuổi, ghi danh theo Hội Hướng Đạo Hoa Kỳ.
  2. Thiếu Đoàn Tây Sơn được thành lập vào tháng 1 năm 2005
  3. Mỗi Thiếu sinh là một phần tử của một đội, đứng đầu là Đội Trưởng và Đội Phó. Nhiều đội hợp lại thành đoàn, dưới sự hướng dẫn của các Thiếu Trưởng.
  4. Đồng phục: Đồng phục của Hướng Đạo Hoa Kỳ. Khăn quàng màu xanh lá cây biểu tượng cho sự gần gũi với thiên nhiên.

III. Nội dung sinh hoạt:

  1. Khẩu hiệu: SẮP SẴN
  2. Châm Ngôn: Mỗi ngày làm một việc thiện
  3. Mười điều luật: Hướng Đạo Sinh (HĐS) TRỌNG DANH DỰ, TRUNG THÀNH, GIÚP ÍCH, THÂN THIỆN, LỄ ĐỘ VÀ LIÊM KHIẾT, THƯƠNG YÊU SINH VẬT, VÂNG LỜI, VUI TƯƠI, CẦN KIỆM, TRONG SẠCH.
  4. Ba lời hứa: Tôi xin lấy danh dự hứa cố gắng hết sức:
    • LÀM TRÒN BỔN PHẬN ĐỐI VỚI TÍN NGƯỠNG, TÂM LINH, TỔ QUỐC VÀ QUỐC GIA TÔI
    • GIÚP ÍCH MỌI NGƯỜI BẤT CỨ LÚC NÀO
    • TUÂN THEO LUẬT HƯỚNG ĐẠO
  1. Song song với chương trình học tập của Hướng Đạo Hoa Kỳ, mỗi tháng sẽ có chủ đề chính để trau dồi đức dục theo truyền thống Việt Nam.

IV. Hình thức sinh hoạt:

  1. Dựa theo PHƯƠNG PHÁP HÀNG ĐỘI của huân tước Baden Powell
  2. Các Thiếu sinh sẽ được học tập qua các trò chơi, bài hát
  3. Sinh hoạt ngoài trời để trau dồi tính tháo vát và lòng yêu thiên nhiên
  4. Tự giác sửa đổi khi làm lỗi

V. Chương trình đẳng thứ: Chương trình Hoa Kỳ và Việt Nam được kết hợp và phân chia như sau:

  1. SCOUT
  2. MANG KHĂN: Thiếu sinh được mang khăn quàng, chính thức gia nhập Đoàn
  3. TENDERFOOT
  4. TUYÊN HỨA: Thiếu sinh được chính thức gia nhập phong trào HĐ Thế Giới
  5. SECOND CLASS
  6. FIRST CLASS
  7. STAR
  8. LIFE
  9. EAGLE

VI. Bổn phận của Thiếu Sinh:

  1. Đi họp đều đặn, đúng giờ, đồng phục đầy đủ
  2. Mang theo bút, sổ tay, sách Hướng Đạo mỗi kỳ họp.
  3. Mang theo nước uống và snack cho mỗi kỳ họp
  4. Học tập các chương trình đẳng thứ
  5. Làm việc thiện mỗi ngày
  6. Nói tiếng Việt với người Việt Nam
  7. Thông báo với Đội Trưởng hoặc Đội Phó khi nghỉ họp

VII. Vai Trò của phụ huynh:

  1. Đưa con em đi họp đầy đủ và đúng giờ
  2. Tham dự các buổi họp phụ huynh hàng tháng
  3. Hàng ngày:
    • Nói tiếng Việt với các em
    • Nhắc nhở các em thục hành những điều đã học và làm việc thiện.
    • Cho các em nghe CD nhạc Hướng Đạo, cùng các em tập hát càng nhiều càng tốt
  1. Tiếp tay với ban huynh trưởng trong các sinh hoạt của Đoàn
    • Gia nhập ban dạy hát, ban hướng dẫn các chương trình học tập
    • Nhắc nhở các em hoàn tất các chương trình thăng tiến ở nhà
  1. Ghi danh và đóng niên liễm hàng năm cho Liên Đoàn
  2. Nhắc các em liên lạc Đội Trưởng/Đội Phó khi nghỉ họp
  3. Thông báo cho ban huynh trưởng khi các em ngưng sinh hoạt
  4. Giúp các em hiểu và chấp hành nội qui Thiếu Đoàn và Liên Đoàn

VIII Ban Huynh Trưởng Thiếu Đoàn:

Thiếu Đoàn Tây Sơn đưọc trông coi bởi các trưởng Hướng Đạo đã có Youth Protection Certificate của Hướng Đạo Hoa Kỳ. Quý vi có thể vào website của Liên Đoàn www.ldhuongviet.org để tìm thêm tài liệu, tin tức của Liên Đoàn. Rất mong có được sự hợp tác chặt chẽ của quý phụ huynh.

SCOUT

HOW TO BECOME A BOY SCOUT

  1. Base requirements
    1. Repeat from memory the Scout Oath, Scout Law, Scout motto, and Scout slogan. In your own words, explain their meaning.
    2. Explain what Scout spirit is. Describe some ways you have shown Scout spirit by practicing the Scout Oath, Scout Law, Scout motto, and Scout slogan.
    3. Demonstrate the Boy Scout sign, salute, and handshake. Explain when they should be used.
    4. Describe the First Class Scout badge and tell what each part stands for. Explain the significance of the First Class Scout badge.
    5. Repeat from memory the Outdoor Code. In your own words, explain what the Outdoor Code means to you.
    6. Repeat from memory the Pledge of Allegiance. In your own words, explain its meaning.
  2. After attending at least one Boy Scout troop meeting, do the following:
    1. Describe how the Scouts in the troop provide its leadership.
    2. Describe the four steps of Boy Scout advancement.
    3. Describe what the Boy Scout ranks are and how they are earned.
    4. Describe what merit badges are and how they are earned.
    5. Explain the patrol method. Describe the types of patrols that are used in your troop.
    6. Become familiar with your patrol name, emblem, flag, and yell. Explain how these items create patrol spirit.
    7. Show how to tie a square knot, two half-hitches, and a taut-line hitch. Explain how each knot is used.
    8. Show the proper care of a rope by learning how to whip and fuse the ends of different kinds of rope.
  3. Demonstrate your knowledge of pocketknife safety.
  4. With your parent or guardian, complete the exercises in the pamphlet "How to Protect Your Children from Child Abuse: A Parents Guide" and earn the Cyber Chip Award for your grade.
  5. Since joining the troop and while working on the Scout rank, participate in a Scoutmaster conference.

  1. Hoàn tất chương trình Hướng Đạo Sinh Hoa Kỳ (Earn the Boy Scout Rank from BSA Advancement program)
  2. Đi sinh hoạt đều đặn với Đoàn ít nhất là 2 tháng (Attend troop meetings regularly for at least 2 months)
  3. Có đầy đủ đồng phục (Has complete uniform), sổ tay HĐ (this handbook)), BSA handbook, còi (whistle), sổ tay (pocket notebook), bút (pen), dây cá nhân (rope), gậy đội (Staff), bình nước (water bottle)
  4. Biết mục đích của Hướng Đạo (Know the purpose of scouting)
  5. Biết khẩu hiệu và châm ngôn Hướng Đạo (Know the Scout motto and slogan)
  6. Biết ý nghiã tên Liên Đoàn và sinh nhật Liên Đoàn (Know the history of LĐHV and the anniversary date)
  7. Biết tên và khẩu hiệu của Đội, Đoàn, và Liên Đoàn (Know the name and yell of your patrol, troop, and LĐHV)
  8. Hiểu ý nghĩa của khăn quàng (Understand the meaning of the neckerchief)
  9. Biết tên Đoàn Trưởng, Đội Trưởng và các bạn cùng Đội (Know the names of your Troop Leaders, Patrol Leaders, Assistant Patrol Leader, and Patrol Members)
  10. Thuộc 5 dấu đi đường (Know these 5 trail signs): Khởi hành, Đi hướng này, Tới rồi, Nguy hiểm, Đường cấm (start here, go this way, destination, dangerous, prohibited road)
  11. Biết nhận Morse (Know how to receive Morse. Don’t have to memorize)

SCOUT SPIRIT

  1. Demonstrate Scout spirit by living the Scout Oath and Scout Law. Tell how you have done your duty to God and how you have lived four different points of the Scout Law in your everyday life.
  2. While working toward Tenderfoot rank, and after completing Scout rank requirement 7, participate in a Scoutmaster conference.
  3. Successfully complete your board of review for the Tenderfoot rank.
